Huaqing Pool of XI'AN, China

Huaqing Pool of XI'AN, China

Historic Huaqing Pool is located at the northern foot of Mount Li in China. Over a 1,000 years ago, during the Tang dynasty, Huaqing Palace was a retreat for China’s emperors.

Take in the History and the Springs

Your visit will most likely start with the beautiful Huaqing Palace, with its Tang-era pavilions, lotus pools, and gardens. You’ll also see the historic hot spring pools where Tang Emperor Xuanzong and Yang Guifei bathed.

Keep in mind that you can’t bath or swim at the pools at the palace. You’ll need to visit a nearby resort for your mineral-rich soak.

A tour that combines the palace and a stop at a hot springs resort may be the best way to take it all in, especially if you don’t speak Chinese. The breathtaking Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum is also a nearby and worthwhile stop.

If you can’t make it to the Huaqing Pool, let your imagination and Mineral Lagoon’s Huaqing-inspired mineral bath create the experience in your own home.
